Ashanti received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a big accomplishment her momager, Tina Douglas, always knew she would accomplish.

Days after the 20th anniversary of her self-title debut album, the Grammy Award winning singer was honored with the 2,718th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The singer’s debut album earned her a best contemporary R&B album Grammy and it landed the #1 spot on both the Billboard Top 200 and R&B album charts, selling a whopping 504,593 units in its first week.

This week in 2002….20 Years ago!@Ashanti had 4 ( yes 4!) hits in the Billboard Top 10! She ran the early 2000s and had the game in a headlock! Now 20 years later she’s receiving a Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame! I’m beyond proud of her We Luv U @ashanti pic.twitter.com/niuf8dWcLY

Not only that, her debut album set a SoundScan record as the most albums sold by any debut female artist in the chart’s history, granting her a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records, which she still holds today.

Next month, her first book of poetry titled "Foolish/Unfoolish: Reflections on Love," will be released via Harper Collins.

The 41-year-old songstress – who still looks like she’s still in her 20s – slayed the scene in a winter white pantsuit accessorized with emerald and diamond necklaces that served up boss woman vibes. She topped her look off with a sleek, low ponytail.

Ashanti’s longtime collaborator/former Murder Inc. label mate Ja Rule and her friend/actress Tichina Arnold joined the singer for the celebration, as well as some of her family members. They showered her with admiration, love and praise before she was presented with her own star.

“You should be in the Guinness Book of World Records for being a beautiful human being, you should be in the Guinness Book of World Records for being a beautiful human spirit,” said Tichina.

“We’ve shared so many moments together, but this one is so special. Getting a star on the Hollywood walk of fame is like the top of the top,” said Ja.

“I just remember being a young girl from Long Island amongst all of these guys and gangstas in the studio, and they didn’t know if I could really write,”

Taking the podium, Ashanti thanked everyone who has helped her along in her career, as well as her biggest supporter, her mother/manager, Tina Douglas. The singer shared a story about how her mother manifested her Walk of Fame star during her first trip to L.A. She said her mom went to a souvenir shop on the same block while she was mixing her debut album and purchased one of the Hollywood stars with the nameplate with her name on it.

“She said you’re gonna get one of these one day,” Ashanti said as she welcomed her mother, who was crying, on stage.

Aww! Towards the end of her speech, Shanti got emotional talking about her loved ones who passed, but found comfort in knowing they’re proud of her.

The “Always On Time” singer is having one hell of a week. On top of receiving her Walk of Fame star and her debut album’s 20th anniversary, she also became the first Black female artist to be a co-founder of a Web3 company, EQ Exchange, this week.

DJ Khaled will receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, April 11th.
